Revelations 12:11 "They overcame him (the accuser/satan) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death."
So here you will find we are covered by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ and we will share some of our testimonies of what The Holy Spirit is doing in our lives and what He is showing and teaching us. We are not perfect, but we are forgiven and are living by the grace of God.
Psalm 116:15 " Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
Death in both verses, I believe means not only physical death, but death of our own agendas, reputations...self centeredness. When we need to confess, apologize, let another person have their way instead of us pushing for what we think we want. When we die to our own selfish desires and see other peoples desires and needs as more important than our own. I believe it is precious to the Lord.
Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary, tenth edition; Precious = 1. of great value or high price 2. highly esteemed or cherished, 3. excessively refined.
I'm continually learning this. "IT AIN'T EASY!" But every time we lay aside ourselves in favor of someone else, we lay it aside in favor of Jesus, which means a little more of "His will being done on earth as it is in heaven." And that sounds good to me! - Blessings in the name of Jesus - M

Regarding your statement "every time we lay aside ourselves in favor of someone else, we lay it aside in favor of Jesus:" I heard a message this morning stating there are over 2,000 scriptures about how to love Jesus, love others, serve others, take care of others, and not one - NOT ONE! - that talks about how we should love ourselves and take care of our own needs. The scriptures say that God will take care of our needs; we are to take care of others. Hmmmm....
